A fatal encounter

When we first move here at the new office location, everything wasn’t finished and the place is literally falling apart. There’s this one instance before when we board the elevator and am guessing that midway 3rd and 4th floor, the elevator plummeted all the way to the ground floor. Now that was my first time experiencing such and I didn’t mind it. In fact after that crash, we actually tried it again and it crashed… again. We tried it for the third time but identical result and that was the time when we got off the elevator. After the incident, never did I ride an elevator when I’m just the only one to board.

Just recently, this same “glitch” in the elevator system happened once again. I was on my way on our designated floor in an elevator with a handful of people. When we were at the 7th floor, the elevator plummeted (yet again) and it’s a good thing that the fail safe system of the elevator was working. The system shoots out and caught us in barely on the 6th floor and we ascended yet again. When the elevator opened, we all hop out (though that wasn’t our floor yet) and reported the glitch to the authorities.

Right now, am still at the same work, same building and same crappy elevator and am hoping to never experience that ordeal again

Day 4 – a day before the culmination

I arrived an hour early today as I cannot contain my excitement and I so look forward for today’s lesson. We continued where we left yesterday – the “connect the dots my love” activity. The final participant gave us a review on what had been said the last time and gave his own piece and a conclusion. In ending, we come up with a fascinating story not meant for the faint of hearts hehehhe.

Lesson proper now woooohhoooo!! Idiomatic phrases were the hot seat topic for the first half of the day. There were a lot of them that it chunked our whole day just to cover the most basic and the widely used idiomatic phrases. We covered the colloquial, slang and the very formal idiomatic phrases that our western brothers used. And as if the words and phrases in the manual weren’t enough, we were presented with this voice file showing these idiomatic words and phrases in action.

As always, I had fun with today’s lesson and caroline – the goddess of smile, just made it a lot more enjoyable. I don’t want tomorrow to come because it signals the last day for this session. I don’t wanna part ways with the instructor and the folks at the training (especially caroline) for they’ve made a difference in my life!

The instructor now is becoming our second mother and I now refer to her as nanay Linda.

Undecided

We have still an unfinished house that we live in right now. Rooms are a mess but thankfully we have the basic needs like electricity and water. My room is on the upper part of the house (which is still yet to be finished) and I wanted the motif to be Italian – Italian furniture including the bed sheets, lamps and television racks. The overall of our first floor was designed with modern furniture – ranging from our closet to the toiletries, from our kitchen to the living room and it’s quite cozy and homy when you first enter the house.

The original design was to have it as all contemporary furniture but our plan changed when we found out that we were short on cheese. So we settled on what we have now and just change it later. After all, these are just furniture and they will be easy to move around the house. Once we get the funds, we will just do a complete redesign. Should we have a lot of excess, we will definitely go with the designer furniture.

I hope that all of these will become a part of the reality and not just part of my dreams.

My sassy girl… western version

My sassy girl is a Korean original film wherein the protagonist meets this girl that was way off in his scale (when it comes to chick). But as the story progresses, his feelings toward the girl changes and the more time that they spent with one another, the more they fell in love.

The Americans did a remake on this movie flick and was recently released here in my country. I was told that a lot of people lined up for the opening day to come see the movie but the reviews say otherwise. There had been a lot of western remakes in the past couple of years and the movie-going public are either disappointed of the outcome or discontented on how the movie flowed.

I don’t know if I’m gonna watching this movie or not but am certainly hoping that the Americans did justice to this wonderful film.

Personal Loans to make our dream, a reality

Here where I live, there’s this infomercial by the government talking about loans. They are saying that their loans have affordable and flexible rate. That you wouldn’t have to rent a place because you can have your own home via their loan.

Now I have found this site where the online Personal Loans are their specialty. The loan offers a flexible and affordable plan whether huge or small denomination. This tempting offer can now rival what the government is offering. Am planning to get some Car Loans so I can now buy a family car or my dream auto.

It’s comforting to know that there are these types of sites and services are now made possible and available in our times.

Day 5 – culmination of knowledge!

As we are a bit pressed on time, we didn’t do the individual affirmation. There were a lot of activities today including the post-test, word enunciation and mock interview.

Lesson proper now for the next three hours. English comprehension, well more of listening comprehension was the last lesson for this whole training. It was easy and there were a couple of tips on what information to jot down and what not. Then came the listening comprehension exam which all of us passed, yey!!

Nanay Linda brought in the good news when she told us that the words to enunciate in the post-test were identical to the pre-test and everybody just breathe a sigh of relief. I did a good job in the word enunciation having a score of 47 out of the 50 words and one of the highest in class I may add. During the mock interview, the question was very simple. Nanay Linda asked me “how do you find the training?”. During the time that we were alone in that area, I became an emo… in public. I told her how fun, how lively and how interesting the subject was and she was the perfect instructor to lead the class. I was thanking her profusely because in that span of 5 days, she brought back the old jexamine. I told her a lot of emo-ness things that I won’t mention here. At the end of interview, nanay Linda gave me a hug because she sez I remind her of her son which is the owner of an advertising company. I love nanay Linda!!

When I came back from the interview, I immediately picked up my NDS to play a game and put my headphones. Other friends were sort of discussing some personal matters – a sort of getting to know each other thing. There were a lot of revelations that some said and I can hear them all along since I turned down the juice in my DS. The thing is that each and everybody will be in the hotseat and tell the group something personal. The group will then ask for some clarifications and questions whenever they want. As they saw that am busy playing, they didn’t bother on askin me and putting me in the hotseat.

I fell in love with everybody that it pains me that this was the last day! As a souvenir, we took a group picture just something to remember the session by.

This, for me, was more than just an English session. This is where the old jexamine came back… and am hoping that it’s for good!

I won’t say goodbye to them as I am sure as hell that we’ll be seeing each other… in some twist of fate.

A walk back

I went to the optometrist again yesterday. I asked them to adjust the glasses that I bought since it was too tight around the nasal area. Afterwhich, I (together with my sis) went back to our old place. It was very, very refreshing to be back here at my home. I missed the noise brought forth by the road and the chaos courtesy of the children running about. It was a very enjoyable stay indeed! One of the reasons I came back is to pick up a couple of clothes, including my akatsuki (from naruto anime) costume. Before heading home, I did some manual labor as my mother’s helper is yet to arrive. I lifted a couple of crates packed with bananas to be sold at the market. It was a good exercise for me and I felt that my pecks strengthen and had grown bigger… heheheh…

Today was a goody day but I am so worried about tomorrow because our English training is done and it’s back to work again. What’s worst is that I won’t be able to see the “family” that I had build during our English training… sigh…

Soothing the taste buds

I’ve tried to use the local yellowpages in order to find the best local restaurants here at my area. I’ve never been to a fancy restaurant, I guess for as long as I live and I definitely won’t mind experiencing it now.

Actually, now that I realized it, it’s not just the restaurant that I am yet to take advantage off but a lot of things – including the business opportunities here at my area as well as the establishments (fast food chains, malls and the likes). I was never that excited in the great outdoors but that belief changed when my Nikon camera came into my life. It taught me how to be adventurous in order to experience the culture and tradition that was way out of my norm. I did a local search where the happenings may be at this time of year. Am sure enough to find a couple where I can put my “photography skills” to good use. True enough, I just found out that there will be a cosplay competition to be held on October 5th and 12th. A friend also told me that there will be an event by the end of the month but I am skeptical whether I’ll be going.
